A hotel-school for Karen youth

The LEF scoping study is a different kind of document from the city deck. Keep them apart.

On 5 March 2017 the Learning Exchange Foundation, Amsterdam — operators of a hotel-school in Paro, Bhutan — delivered a feasibility study to Karen Enterprises. About 48 students a year, 60 percent practice, four operational departments. Preferred site: Myawaddy. Budget about USD 1.10 million through year three. Explicit that a non-profit school is hard to run without donations.2

A September 2017 Karen Tourism Holdings placement asked for USD 1.5 million of equity and bonds and promised thousands of jobs. That is not the same enterprise as LEF’s study.28
